The Stories I Like to Tell.

As a coach, my intention with the podcast is that people will hear themselves inside your story. While every interview is different, there is a philosophy that guides me:

  • Normalize: Everyone struggles. And everyone wants to know they are not alone when they
struggle. When you share your struggle, it makes others feel better about their own situation and more at ease.
  • Synthesize: I like to understand why these struggles happen. No blame. No shame. Just lots of understanding and compassion.
  • Strategize: How do we do it differently in the future? What have you learned? How have you dealt with your struggles and foibles?

While I don’t ever articulate this formula aloud, I like to say it ahead of our conversation so you understand the purpose of my questions. If I ask you to tell me about a time you’ve struggled, I want you to understand how it serves the listeners.

It helps people when you share not just the things that go well in your relationship, but also those places where you have struggled. Then share the habits that helped you change.

”I love Rebecca and this podcast! What sets it apart is that Rebecca doesn't just tell you what makes for great relationships. She tells you how to do it. She breaks down communication so we can see where exactly we are going wrong and then shows us how to get it right, for all aspects of our relationships. Gold!

  • Find a quiet space with as much soft stuff (pillows/blankets/carpet) as possible to record.

During

  • Turn off ambient noise makers: fans/ heat/clocks that tick
  • Silence your phone
  • Relax. I’ll make this easy for you.

After

  • I’ll give you an expected “air” date
  • I’ll send you a link to the episode
  • You’ll get promotional clips for your social media

”Rebecca's warm voice and empathetic tone create a safe space from wherever we are listening. This allows our hearts and minds to be open as she gently guides us to what is true and what is getting in the way of seeing that truth, in the places we get stuck in our relationships. Her podcasts are as healing as her private sessions!

Things to consider

Do I need to be *camera ready*?

  • While I don’t publish on YouTube, I may use a portion of our discussion on social media.

How may I introduce you?

  • I like to keep intros short and sweet. Consider writing your intro of 100 characters.

Do you have a habit to share with my listeners?

  • I have a segment of the podcast called “This week’s habit for your happily every after.” The best habits are short and highly practical. But no stress. My SuperPower is finding the habit you’re already practicing. It’s my job to help you articulate that for our audience.

You might want to share a short promotional message.

  • I’ll invite you to promote your offerings: book, class, app, or show. How can my listeners connect with you?

This is an edited discussion

  • Thankfully, I have a great editor, so no worries if you sneeze or the dog barks suddenly.
  • This is a conversation and we both want to sound relaxed. Occasionally, however, that means we talked a long time. Consequently, we can *redo* if we get too wordy.
