A bad apology adds another layer of damage.

Have you ever had your sweetheart “apologize” for how they hurt you, but instead of feeling better, you feel worse?

If you struggle with apologies: either giving or receiving, today’s podcast episode is for you.

The romantic reason why you can’t avoid an apology in your relationship

When it comes to learning how to apologize, most of my clients want to learn how to avoid NEEDING to do it. They want me to help them avoid hurting their sweetheart’s feelings.

Great intention! Completely unrealistic.

The reason is romantic. You and your sweetheart have sex. The ONENESS that results from all that wonderful sexy entanglement means you won’t distinguish between yourself and your sweetheart. And neither will your sweetheart.

Then you will talk to your sweetheart exactly the way you talk to yourself. Have you noticed how you talk to yourself? Not exactly filled with warm fuzzies, right?

Add to all that negative talk the idea that—because of this lovely feeling of oneness—you imagine…maybe even assume… that your sweetheart knows everything you’re thinking.
