How will your relationship improve when you take time to rest?

Sometimes the things you LOVE to do also exhaust you. Last week, we looked at the power of noticing as self-care. This week, I’m pulling another episode out of the archives to further our look at REST as self-care.

Rest is one of the most important ingredients if you want to grow as an individual. Rest is also crucial for your relationship:

  • Rest is the best prevention when it comes to conflict
  • Rest feeds your imagination so that you have energy for your sweetheart
  • Rest allows you to listen with more compassion and tenderness

Rest is the key to self-care and relationship-care

And rest is hard to come by during the month of December. That’s why I wanted to be that tiny voice that offers balance to all the other invitations you’re getting this month.

Today’s episode will tell you about why I love dogs. Dogs bring me so much joy, AND the dogs we had early in our marriage also pushed me beyond my capacity until I had to make the hardest decision of my life.

In an effort to normalize *too much* for you, or simply to give you permission to go looking for the places you can nourish yourself…I offer this episode from the archives while I take some much-needed rest at home.
